About ShimmerTeen™

ShimmerTeen™ is a new brand of health and lifestyle media for high school girls.

If you are in high school, we know (from experience) that things like dating, tons of homework, and prom dress shopping can raise questions. Sexual health, stress relief, and weight management are a few topics that come to mind. Sound familiar?

We also know that finding the right information can be complicated. Friends don’t always know the answers, doctors aren’t always reachable, and an awkward conversation with a knowing adult may not be an attractive option. At ShimmerTeen™, we’re rounding up the best information we can find so that you can find the answers you want.

We will keep you posted on the latest news, tips, and trends, relevant to your life. We will also share the tried and true lessons we’ve learned (and are still learning) from our personal experiences. We feel it only fair to let you in on the secrets that have made our own lives easier.

Kimberly Wolf, Founder & CEO, ShimmerTeen™

Kimberly Wolf has dedicated her studies and career to inspiring girls’ health on- and offline. She has taught sexual health education through Planned Parenthood and mentored and tutored girls through WriteGirl and StepUp Women’s Network. In addition, her career as a cause-marketing executive for companies including Wondros (formerly FreeForm), gives her particular insight into finding, creating, and communicating fun, healthy, empowering information to teen girls.

Kimberly attended Brown University, where her senior thesis exploring sexual health content in SEVENTEEN Magazine earned honors in Women’s Studies. She also holds a master’s degree in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she studied adolescent health communication and began developing ShimmerTeen. She has been quoted on CNN.com, WebMD and Health.com, and has been a guest speaker at Cornell University.
